I read Inventing the Future by Marfe9 Ferguson Delano. It was a biography on Thomas Edison. He was born in Ohio and grew up in Michigan but where ever he was he had a knack for initvenng. Edison’s first job was working on railroads selling newspapers. Then he became a telegrapher and quickly learned Morse code. He invented a system that would slow down the telegraph so the person writing it could write it sown. This was one of his first major experiments. After this many companies wanted Edison working for them so he moved to New York City. After earning enough money he opened his own factory in Newark, New Jersey. For years he made inventions like the voice recorder and his most famous, the electric light bulb. He was married twice and had 5 children. Without Thomas Edison we may not be as advanced in technology as we are now.
